A little vendor love! I want to give a loud shout out to TJ, the founder of 43 Layers.

I love the 3D laser cut design work he has done for my clients and I love the personal touch of 43 Layers, they really work hard to bring your vision to fruition. Just recently I had a client that was coming from Australia for her wedding here in Carmel Valley at Carmel Valley Ranch. The client wanted “Mr & Mr’s” signs to have to hang from the back of their wedding chairs. You would think that would be an easy one, but really, it took a little extra research on 43 Layers side because my client is very environmentally conscience, she wanted her signs made our of recycled or reclaimed wood. TJ came up with the idea of using Bamboo since it is a renewable resource. The client loved the idea and we love her for caring about the environment. If you are in the market for cool, custom event décor, I can’t say enough great things about 43 Layers.

Today as I am working on the upcoming weddings and always thinking about what wedding planning “tools” I have that make my heart sing I can’t help but smile when I think of HoneyBook. I love, love, love, them for my wedding contracts and can’t say enough great things! It’s not just about the ease of the software, but the amazing team that comes along with joining the HoneyBook family. As a wedding planner we have so many “tools”, but to have one that makes it easy not just for the planner, but for the client too, it has been a blissful new addition to my wedding planning business.

In wedding planning, I know I always feel...giddy, when I have those clients that are so sweet and so easy going through the wedding planning process, you know what I'm talking about, the "dream clients", well, I just had the pleasure of working with them, Lindsey and Brian. Their wedding was at Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley, California, a summer solstice wedding, the ceremony was set at Quail Meadows on the lawn with the pond and the fountains in the background. Beautiful florals by Fleurish were set up at the front of the ceremony site, and small floral arrangements placed strategically along with ribbons of white, god and merlot blowing in the gentle wind, the guitarist playing as guests arrived to celebrate this fabulous couple, everything was perfect and it stayed that way for the entire night.

I don't have photos from the professional photographer Kholly yet, but I do have just a couple from my phone that I would love to share and if you click on the the link above you can see a sneak peak. Lindsey and Brian kept things simple, elegant and filled with love. The officiant was one of their best friends, what a better way to have so many people that are close to you hear the story of your love from a friend that has been there since before the love story began. The vows that Lindsey and Brian exchanged were written by them and you could tell how strong their love is by the words we heard.

We have all seen some pretty amazing gifts presented at a wedding, but this one, by far, has got to be the most touching and beautiful. Lindsey's aunt commissioned an artists to paint one of the engagement photos from Lindsey and Brian's engagement session and she presented it to them just before the were introduced into the room to all of the guests as Mr. & Mrs. What a gift! I am looking forward to the professional photos from their special day.

The day could not have been more perfect. Fary and her bridesmaids were spending the morning at a private estate in Carmel, CA getting ready and Anthony and the guys were looking pretty "dapper" as they got ready for the big day. The wedding was held at the stunning Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley, CA. The bride was wearing a Tara Keely dress that looked to be made just for Fary, a true fairytale vision.

As a wedding planner, I think that moment when you fluff the brides dress just as she begins the walk down the aisle with her Dad is the first time of the day when you pause, just for a moment, and take it all in. Everyone is watching and the bride and groom are looking at each other as she walks towards him, they know that this is "one of the biggest days of their lives" and they have so much to look forward to in love and in life.

I’m super excited to kick off my wedding planning blog! I hope that I can both inform and entertain you along this journey. As you begin to think about that very special day the Wedding planning process can be fun, exciting as well as one of the most stressful and intimidating activities you may ever undertake. I won’t be hiding anything from you because I think it’s important to show all sides of the process.

I’m Elizabeth, the founder of Element Events; I have been planning weddings for nearly 10 years with dozens of happy success stories to tell you about. I started my business in the quaint mountain town of Breckenridge Colorado. I was lucky enough to plan weddings on the top of a mountain to private estates and so much in between and every one of them was a destination wedding...more of that in future blogs. Now I'm back in my home state of California planning weddings in in some of the worlds most majestic and scenic backdrops. Planning a wedding in Monterey or Carmel, Big Sur or the Santa Cruz Mountains or any of the hundreds of surrounding spectacular locations of the California Coast will certainly enhance that special day. I love being back home in California and am looking forward to helping more wedding stories unfold in the special part of the world.

I am a wedding planner because I believe in love, in your love as a matter of fact. I believe that you are here on my site because you have found that one person to spend the rest of your life with and are looking for ideas and perhaps some help as you begin down the path of planning your wedding. It is my hope that my blog will serve as a resource to provide information and some helpful tips and guide you through the wedding planning process.

I'm interested in hearing what you have to say and to find out if you have questions I might be able to help you with so, please click on my email link and send me a note, I would love to hear from you. While you are on the site please take a look at some images from many of the memorable weddings I have planned in Colorado and California.
